FAM Trips to Türkiye

DAY-1: ARRIVAL – ISTANBUL

Upon arrival at Istanbul’s airport, you will be greeted by your guide then transferred to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay is at the hotel.

DAY-2: ISTANBUL

Spend a full day sightseeing Istanbul’s most important highlights. In the morning, visit St. Sophia Museum, Byzantine Cistern. Also visit the Hippodrome – the site of ancient chariot races and Topkapi Palace with its priceless treasures from the ancient ruling Sultans. Lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Blue Mosque, a masterpiece of Turkish architecture, decorated with exquisite shimmering Iznik tiles. Also visit the Grand Covered Bazaar. This world famous bazaar contains over 4,000 shops and markets and a short cruise on the Bosphorus. Dinner and overnight stay is at the hotel.

DAY-3: ISTANBUL / CAPPADOCIA

In the morning on the way to Cappadocia, crossing the Bosphorus Bridge and visit the Asiatic part of the town and exciting general view of Istanbul from Camlica Hills. On the way stop for lunch. Proceed to the hotel in Cappadocia for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY-4: CAPPADOCIA

In the morning visit the unique Goreme Valley, which is famous worldwide for its rock carved churches, decorated with remarkable frescoes by the first Christians. On the way stop for lunch and in the afternoon visit the small picturesque villages of: Uchisar known as the petrified valley of pigeon coats, Zelve a popular valley for its fairy chimneys and erosion cones, Avcilar, Avanos, and Urgup. It’s amazing how still some of the villagers live in these cone shaped rock homes. After a busy day of exploration, enjoy dinner and relax in the hotel.

DAY-5: CAPPADOCIA / KONYA

In the morning depart for Ihlara Valley which is a 16 km long gorge cut into volcanic rock in the southern part of Cappadocia, following several eruptions of Mount Erciyes. On the way stop for lunch and in the afternoon visit Sultan Han Caravanserai. Continue to Konya for visit Mevlana Tekkesi, Museum of Whirling Dervishes, which contains the Dervishes’ tombs, ancient relics, and precious carpets dating to the 12th century. Continue on to Medresse of Karatay which was formerly a Coranic school, but now holds a priceless ceramic and tile collection. Also observe the unique architecture of Aladdin Mosque. Dinner and overnight stay is at the hotel. *Jewelry Store Visit (open your request)

DAY-6: KONYA / PAMUKKALE

In the morning depart for Pamukkale. Visit Laodicea, ancient Hierapolis (one of the first Christianchurches established by St. Phillip in 87 AD) and glittering cascades of snow-white travertines. Dinner and overnight stay is at the hotel.

DAY-7: PAMUKKALE / KUSADASI

In the morning visit Aphrodisias, a Hellenistic city known as the center of the arts, specifically sculpture. The city contains a two mile long Byzantine wall which surrounds the city, the temple of Aphrodite, the Baths of Hadrian, and a 1st century A.D. stadium that seated 30,000 and has a length of almost two football fields. Then we proceed Kusadasi. On the way stop for lunch and visit the Basilica of St. John, the Sanctuary of the Virgin Mary which lies in a secluded, peaceful area with a heavenly view high up in the mountains.
Descend into the valley to explore the remarkable ruins of the Roman city “Ephesus”. Let your imagination run wild as you walk down the marble streets as the Romans once did. This ancient city, once with a population of 300,000, is the best preserved and most complete in Turkey, and is still under exploration by world class archeologists. Dinner and overnight stay is at the hotel.

DAY-8: KUSADASI

In the morning depart for Didyma and visit Didyma Archeological Site (known as a centre of prophecy in the territory of Miletus, as a temple dedicated to the oracular god Apollo.), lunch, Miletus Archeological Site and proceed to Priene for visiting Archeological Site. Dinner and overnight stay is at the hotel.

DAY-9: KUSADASI / BURSA

In the morning depart for Izmir which is a large metropolis in the western extremity of Anatolia and the third most populous city in Turkey. On the way stop for lunch and then visit Pergamum Acropolis & Pergamum Asclepius. Proceed to the hotel in Bursa for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY-10: BURSA / ISTANBUL – DEPARTURE

In the morning visit Bursa which is the first capital of the Ottoman Empire with a history dating back to 4000BC at the heart of the silk and spice trade and Turkey’s fourth largest and advanced city. After city tour we proceed to Istanbul for return flight. The city which has been the capital of many civilizations and religions for centuries is the hub of many monuments and historical works nowadays. The city’s skyline is comprised of historical landmarks varying from mosques to madrasas and from churches to baths. After visits, we proceed to Istanbul for your flight.
