Tour Description:
Your First stop is Archaeological Museum of Izmir; was opened to the public in 1984.Its filled with exhibits that showcase artifacts that go back as far as the very first days of ancient Smyrna. With more than 1,500 artifacts on display, you can easily spend a day wandering around the halls of this museum. After that drive to Agora,Smyrna,the ancient Greek city that is now Izmir,is steeped in history as far back as 3000 B.C.While the Agora is certainly not that old,its still very interesting to see. The Agora was a marketplace that served Smyrna and was built during the reign of Alexander the Great,or around the 4th century B.C.Destroyed by an earthquake,the Agora was rebuilt in 178 A.D. by the Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius. You will continue to Kemeralti Bazaar. The Kemeralti Market, located in Konak district of Izmir, is not only a historical area more than 300 years old, but also one of the best places to shop in Izmir.Sights in the market include the marble fountain the Mayors Building,an important monument from the Turkish War of Liberation.The quest free time at leisure you will have approx 2 hours free time. After all the visits, you will turn back to port of Izmir.

B - İZMIR (HALF DAY – WITHOUT LUNCH)
Tour Description:
Izmir is Turkey’s third largest city, with an inhabited area of more than 12,000 square kilometers and a population of over 3 million. It has always been famous for its port, which is one of the most important in the country for trade and exports of dried figs, sultanas and hazelnuts, and at first glance looks like an extremely modern city. But traces of Izmir’s ancient past will appear before your eyes in all their magnificence amidst the skyscrapers and concrete apartment blocks. After a panoramic tour of Izmir, we will visit Izmir’s New Archaeological Museum, another remarkable stop on your itinerary, were discovered in the agora. The Museum’s three large galleries (dedicated to statues, objects and ceramics respectively) are equipped with a modern lighting system that will guide you through the numerous precious exhibits on an evocative journey through history. Then we will pass by the seafront till Karsiyaka, a modern area which is the second biggest quarter in town. We will have free time to spend doing shopping in the typical streets before crossing by boat the Izmir Gulf and reach Konak where our bus will wait for us to return to the ship.
